Ingredients:
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Rare Hawaiian honey
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Guava Hawaiian Volcano Sea Salt
- 1 cup + 2 tablespoons flour
- 2/3 cup Rare Hawaiian Organic White Honey (or White Honey with Lilikoi)
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon Hawaiian Volcano Steak Rub
Instructions:
- Prepare the Crust: In a medium saucepan, combine butter, vegetable oil, water, honey, and Guava Hawaiian Volcano Sea Salt over low heat. Cook for 15-20 minutes, allowing the butter to brown and develop a nutty aroma
- Mix the Dough: Turn off the heat and add the flour all at once, stirring with a wooden spoon until the dough forms a ball.
- Shape the Crust: Press the dough into a 9-inch pie pan, spreading it evenly along the bottom and sides. Prick the bottom of the crust several times with a fork.
- Bake: Preheat the oven to 400°F and bake the crust for 13-15 minutes, or until it is golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- Add the Honey Filling: Once the crust has cooled slightly, gently spread the raw honey over the warm crust using the back of a spoon. Place the pie in the freezer for at least 10 minutes to firm up the honey.
- Whip the Cream: While the pie chills, whip the cream and vanilla with an electric mixer until thick and fluffy.
- Assemble the Pie: Remove the pie from the freezer and spread the whipped cream over the honey layer, smoothing it with a spatula.
- Garnish: Mix the cinnamon and Hawaiian Volcano Steak Rub together. Sprinkle the mixture over the whipped cream topping.
- Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the pie for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow it to set. Enjoy this luscious, salty-sweet treat!
